Multiple Sales Assistant Roles - Christchurch

Kate Sylvester is one of New Zealand's leading fashion designers, with a reputation for excellence in customer service.

We are looking for experienced, passionate and dynamic full time, part time and casual staff who love and understand the Kate Sylvester brand.

Our ideal candidates will demonstrate strong initiative and excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as having the ability to achieve and exceed sales targets. A friendly demeanour along with an innate sense of style is a must, as is flexibility to work across both our Merivale and CBD stores as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Nurturing and encouraging new and existing customer relationships
  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations
  • Keeping the store beautifully presented at all times
  • Representing the brand to a high level at all times

Summer Production Internships 

We are seeking interns to join our Auckland based workroom this Summer!

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our internship program with our busy Production team through December, January & February. This is a hands-on role, where you will gain a valuable insight into the New Zealand manufacturing scene and learn the process from cut to finished garment.

You will need to have an enthusiastic, can-do attitude and must be willing to hit the ground running. You need to have a basic understanding of garment construction and fabric qualities. This is a perfect opportunity to get your foot in the door and further push your industry knowledge whether you are in tertiary study or have an interest in fashion production. We have two limited spots to be part of our team this summer. Successful candidates will need to be available 3-5 days a week, with chosen months to work flexible.

Summer Sampling Internships 

We are seeking interns to join our Auckland based workroom this Summer!

This is an exciting opportunity to build on your textile and garment construction knowledge, learn practical industry skills and be a part of our hardworking team!  You will follow the sample collection through from start to finish and gain invaluable insight into the operations of a traditional workroom where you will be able to learn from cutters, machinists and pattern makers. This role best suits someone who is passionate about garment construction and who seeks experience in a workroom.  

Candidates need to have the ability to turn your hand to any task with a great attitude and ideally have former tertiary fashion training or be keen home sewers who have some knowledge of how a garment goes together.
