Marketing & PR Assistant
- Central Auckland

Our Kate Sylvester head office is looking for a special and highly engaged Marketing & PR Assistant to join us. A current marketing team junior or a graduate of fashion, marketing or communications. They will be organised, focused and motivated with an understanding and appreciation of fashion, art and design.

The role will assist the Head of Brand and wider Marketing team in all areas of marketing, digital, pr, events and retail. The marketing team is small and works in a collaborative environment.

We create intelligent, timeless and considered clothing with storytelling woven into every garment. The brand takes a kind, considered approach to all aspects of business practice recognising our responsibility to the people, the environment and the local community. 

Key responsibilities include:

Brand & Marketing

  • Assist on local marketing updates and activity
  • Assist in organising and implementing seasonal press events, store openings, NZFW and other events
  • Assist in shoot organisation, events and other promotional activity
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plan and strategy
  • Support in general marketing duties

E-Commerce

  • Support in website content and product upload as required
  • Support with EDMs and targeted campaigns
  • Support with site bug fixes, UX improvements and testing where required
  • Coordinate samples for all brand photoshoots
  • Support in general copywriting and product descriptions
  • Support on Reloved or re-selling platform

Digital

  • Assist in creation of engaging content in line with marketing calendar
  • Assist with weekly social media scheduling
  • Assist with social content for BTS and retail activity
  • Engage and work closely with wider marketing team to plan and communicate social media calendar
  • Engage with community and answer or direct to customer service any queries that come through social media platforms

PR and Media

  • Assist with PR initiatives as required across showings, product placement, media engagement, sample co-ordination, and events including monitoring competitor activity
  • Assist with implementation of brand activations, in store collection launches, press events and NZFW shows
  • Manage and maintain press collections, editorial requests and responsible for pr lend form for showroom
  • Daily management of the Showroom and Samples
  • Assist with sample management, archiving and preparation for sale as needed throughout the season
  • Develop relationships with key media, stylists, and industry insiders
  • Respond to PR enquiries as required and assist with press coverage reporting and filing
  • Coordinate gifting for influencers, brand ambassadors, celebrities, stylists and charity events

The successful applicant will have 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
  • An understanding and appreciation of fashion, art and design
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be highly organised, collaborative and work well under pressure
  • Degree in Fashion, Marketing, Communications or a related creative field

 We are looking for experienced and dynamic Part-time and Casual Retail stylists to join the retail team of one of New Zealand's most iconic and influential brands.

Strong communication, and organisational skills, along with initiative, excellent customer service skills and an understanding of the KS aesthetic are a must.
